Radha Mulder started out making jewellery for her sisters and friends, but it was her great-grandfather who inspired her to become a jeweller. Seeing him create jewellery for her great-grandmother opened Radha’s eyes to the romantic aspect of creating jewellery, and Radha soon fell in love with the process herself. Inspired by shapes, textures and colours, her detailed designs have a distinct ethnic aesthetic and are finished with colourful gems, particularly turquoise. We chat with Radha about her inspiration, giving to charity and why she would love to travel to Aruba.
How did your brand begin?
“My brand began at the age of 16 when I would make jewellery for my three sisters and my school friends. From that point on it's just been a part of my life.”
When did you fall in love with jewellery?
“When I first walked into my great-grandfather's silversmith studio and saw all the beautiful pieces he made for my great-grandmother. The entire experience was all so romantic and lovely that I knew it would become a part of my life when I was older.”
