Try and pigeonhole British brand Andrew Geoghegan’s covetable fine jewellery designs and you’ll be met with a guarded look from the man himself. Andrew explains, “I’m quite wary of developing a signature style. I’ve always liked the idea of constant evolution and variation. However, that being said, I can’t deny the presence of evident themes and narratives running through my collections, be it intrigue, illusion, harmony or dissonance to cite but a few.”

When Andrew Geoghegan established his eponymous fine jewellery brand in 1998, his motives were less about running his own bejewelled business but were to focus on developing his skills as a goldsmith. “In my early twenties, I was really discovering my craft and it was all about knowledge. I wanted to learn. I was not particularly interested in the business side, it was more about learning how to be a goldsmith and I remember being totally fascinated with the methods of gem-setting. There was a strong desire to invent, which is still strong 18 years on; I felt the urge to create pieces that had not been conceived before and push boundaries.”

Andrew Geoghegan

To achieve his aims, Andrew has channelled his creative talents into vibrant diamond and gemstone cocktail rings, including the striking Satellite range. The combination of a 5ct pear-shaped amethyst, warm rose gold and sparkling diamonds in the Satellite Pear ring is enough to get hearts racing, as is the Satellite London Blue Topaz ring ensconced with diamonds.

Elsewhere, Andrew showcases his talents with the lavish Clair De Lune collection, inspired by “warm nights under the crystalline skies of Southern France”. He continues, “The double haloed Clair De Lune, is an ode to Gallic romance and the natural beauty of rural surrounds. The piece reveals something new from every viewpoint. From above, a pristine diamond appears held between two crescent moons, yet the profile reveals two twisting haloes, gracefully embracing the centre diamond; a seamless, captivating illusion of light and form.”

This new offer stems from Andrew’s now iconic Cannelé motif, which he describes as the brands “most sought after creation”. The curved, soft lines of this recognisably French shape can be seen in the Cannelé Chocolate diamond ring, which is favoured by the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, Pippa Middleton. It also works equally well in pendant form, especially when crafted in 18ct white gold and haloed by brilliant-cut diamonds.

Andrew Geoghegan

“Andrew Geoghegan is a brand for the quietly confident, the self-possessed – the woman who wants her jewellery to complement everything she is, to enhance her own individuality and adapt to her ever-evolving sense of style and beauty.”

Andrew explains, “The woman I am designing for is not wanting to be ‘someone else’ or blindly adhering to trends. She has her own unique picture of what is beautiful, what makes her look and feel good, like the assured, confident woman she is. Andrew Geoghegan is a brand for the quietly confident, the self-possessed, the woman who wants her jewellery to complement everything she is, to enhance her own individuality and adapt to her ever-evolving sense of style and beauty.”

Chocolate Box EnvyIf your individuality cries out for one-of-a-kind pieces, Andrew also has this area covered with some breathtaking gemstones. His Cannelé Délire, for example, is set with an ocean-blue Paraiba Tourmaline – one of the rarest gemstones on the planet – exemplifying the more explosive side of his design identity.

And even if Andrew’s stunning designs aren’t enough to grab your attention, he promises more innovative collections will soon follow. “Just get to know us and keep watching,” he says. “We’re doing some exciting work at the moment and plans are afoot to further spread our wings and fly even higher!” If this isn’t enough to excite the average jewellery lover, we don’t know what is.
