If you’re looking for the perfect bangle fit, follow our simple bangle size chart and guide.
Find your size
The first thing you need to do is determine your wrist size by measuring it. Close your fingers together and bring your thumb to your little finger, as if you were about to put on a bangle. Using a strip of paper or a flexible tape measure, wrap it around your hand at the widest point. If you’re using a plain strip of paper, mark your size with a pen on that paper and then measure that with a ruler; this is the circumference of your hand. Once you have this measurement you can compare it to sizes on your chosen designer’s bangle size chart and find your perfect bangle fit. If the bangle has a hinge, for an average fit, you should add 2.5 cm to your wrist measurement to get your bangle size, and for a looser fit you should increase that to 3 cm.
Understand the fit
When you are deciding on you bangle size, keep in mind how it should fit. Bangles are stiff bracelets that are specifically designed to fit looser on the wrist than a classic bracelet. Unless it is an open bangle or has a clasp, most bangles have a loose fit and can move freely up and down the wrist without falling off the hand. Bangle sizes are usually given in diameter, which is the distance measured across the inner diameter of the bangle.
Different style, different fit
From wide cuff bangles to thin bangles designed to be stacked with other bangles, bangle styles range hugely and this is a factor to take into consideration when deciding on your fit. A large cuff bangle will usually sit better if it has more or a snug fit on the wrist, whereas layering simpler and finer bangles looks great when they have a loose fit and move freely on the wrist. But ultimately when looking at a bangle size chart and deciding on your fit, consider your personal style, what will feel comfortable and the occasions for which the bangle is intended.
And don't forget
Unlike bracelets, most bangles don’t have a clasp and so it is very important that you measure your hand and not your wrist, else you may not be able to fit your bangle over your hand on to your wrist.
There is no one set measurement for bangle sizes and they are sized differently from one designer to the next. So make sure to check the brand or designers individual bangle size chart, as you may be a small in one designer and medium in another.
