Congratulations - you made it to the end of the first week of January and of 2019! The new year may mean a new start but it doesn’t erase the incredible festive period we just had. This time of year, after indulging in chocolate and having a few days off work, we’re thrown back into normal everyday life and life after Betwixtmas can be a very gloomy place.
Cries of “New Year New Me” are everywhere, haunting us and making us feel bad that we haven’t started a new fitness regime. Having a glass of Prosecco at 9 in the morning isn’t saluted or celebrated anymore, but thought of as weird and unnatural. And no more Christmas TV Specials or unwrapping presents… where has the joy gone? After the festive period, we’re all met with a sense of loss and January really does seem like the gloomiest month of the year.
Don’t let January get you down! It’s only the 4th day of the year and there’s so much more to be accomplished. Instead of hiding from January, try to celebrate it with some January themed jewellery. We hope it cheers you up!
Beat the January Blues
The January Blues are a common thing and Blue Monday (21st January) is reported to be the most depressing day of the year. Now, we’re not promising that jewellery is going to solve all of your problems and instantly make you feel better, but our range of handcrafted, unique and one-of-a-kind jewellery is definitely going to try! Show the January Blues that you aren’t to be messed with and indulge in decadent and sparkly blue jewellery.
Glitz in Garnet
The January birthstone is garnet, a red glimmering stone that has been used in jewellery for centuries. A gorgeous colour that works well with warm gold tones is perfect to give a pop of colour to any outfit and to add a bit of warmth to a look. A perfect stone to celebrate January while also looking forward to the warmer months of the year.
Hold on to Christmas
Sometimes January just can’t be beaten! If you’re really missing the festive period, keep it with you in your jewellery! Snowflakes or snowmen, baubles or tinsel, decorate yourself as you would the tree and look festive all year round. Silver is a classic jewellery material and its cool icy colour would be ideal for keeping the festivity close to you. Wearing silver earrings and necklaces gives an icy and snowy illusion that will look festive and traditional, easy to wear all year round.
We're having a big 12 Days of Christmas Sale until the 6th of January - get shopping and make January that little bit sweeter!
