On Sunday the 19th of May, we loaded up the JewelStreet car and headed over to the luxury Hotel du Vin in Bristol. This is a wedding venue renowned for its warm and welcoming feel. The hotel targets couples looking for an exclusive and intimate wedding celebration in the heart of the city centre. Opulent venues like this are a match made in heaven with our high-end designer jewellery pieces.
We arrived at 9:30am, with bags of excitement… and bags of jewellery too! Doors opened at 11:00am, so we had plenty of time beforehand to focus on decorating our stand. Those of you with a keen eye might remember this gorgeous floral table cover from our Boxpark Pop-Up event in Shoreditch last October. We couldn’t resist bringing it out the office for another public appearance…
Has the jewellery already caught your eye? We received so many lovely compliments from couples who attended, as well as our fellow exhibitors.
Matthew JL Harris of Joseph Lamsin Jewellery kindly provided us with eight pieces from his majestic coastal inspired collection. Matt is well-known for his innovative techniques, and each piece is uniquely formed through a process that harnesses sea water as a natural moulding process. What’s left is organic shapes with an exquisite ocean lustre.
We handpicked these pieces for the wedding fair because of their statemented elegance.
The irregularity of shapes and subtle imperfections make each piece unique, and even more special to be worn on your wedding day.
What’s so great about these jewellery pieces, is that they are not exclusively for brides. They are great for your bridesmaids, for the mother of the bride, as well as your wider circle of friends and family. These generated a lot of interest.
Erin Cox also kindly supplied us with some of her iconic beaded necklaces with her trademark hand-hammered t-bar clasp. This is a signature finishing in Erin’s designs and makes for a truly show stopping bridal style. It’s also important to mention how Erin puts ethics at the forefront of her designs. All gemstones and precious metals have been sourced ethically.
One lovely bride mentioned that they would look great with her vintage gown. These pieces would also compliment a contemporary or classic wedding aesthetic. If your dress is more understated, without any embellishments or appliques, then it’s a great idea to invest in a statement necklace like the ones from Erin Cox Jewellery below…
Molten Wedding Rings are also handmade by Erin Cox, and we were lucky enough to receive a sample box for couples to gain an idea of the feel and look of each ring design. Erin uses traditional techniques of casting, filling and hammering. A lot of grooms were so excited to try these on.
One gentleman described how he has never worn jewellery in his life, but promised his fiance he would wear his wedding band every day! He was drawn to the Bray ring because of its thinner band and lightweight feel.
Sad that you missed out on visiting us at the Hotel du Vin? Don’t worry… you’ll be seeing us sooner than you think.
Book us in your diary for Sunday 9th June. We’ll be exhibiting at the Bristol Zoo Clifton Pavilion from 11am to 3pm. Make sure you pop on over and say hello. There are so many exciting benefits on offer, and you may even get your hands on our most generous discount voucher yet.
