Los Angeles-based perfumer Lisa Hoffman has created a new and unique way to wear perfume. Her innovative fragrance jewellery features a delicate filigree charm filled with eco-friendly, scented beads that deliver an incredible fragrance for as long as a month. So, no more need to worry about forgetting to put on perfume in the morning! It’s also a great solution for those with sensitive skin, allowing them to wear fragrance without it even having to touch their skin.
Choose from warm Tuscan Fig, zesty Japanese Agarwood or floral Hawaiian Plumeria - each scent captures the essence of Lisa’s favourite destinations from around the world. She’s got a rich background in fragrance, having trained in Grasse, France with the world's most esteemed perfumers. We chat with Lisa about her childhood spent trying to replicate her grandmother’s Chanel No.5, why the modern woman needs different fragrance options, and wishing there were more hours in the day!
How did your brand begin?
“When I was five years old, my uncle gave me a perfume making kit. I remember sneaking into my grandmother’s bathroom to take her bottle of Chanel No. 5. to study its smell and try to replicate it. Of course, I had absolutely no idea who Chanel was at the time - I just knew it was my grandmother’s bottle of perfume, and I loved it. This memory has stayed with me throughout the years and into adulthood. When my youngest child went off to college I had the time and desire to pursue what had become a great passion of mine. The business part came organically after I discovered the need for women to have fragrance options that complement their lifestyle; changing the way they wear fragrance to a more individualised approach.”

What drives you?
“I’m never more gratified than when I’m contacted by women who thank me, and let me know how much they enjoy something I’ve created. I can’t tell you how much that connection touches me. Collaborating with brilliant designers and other visionaries has brought design and fragrance inspiration. When industry professionals and organisations recognise my company and my products, it pushes me to achieve bigger and better. And when my children are proud of me, the inspiration is limitless.”
Where do you get inspiration for your designs?
“Newness excites and energises me. It’s that moment when you find things that you didn’t know existed. It’s so inspiring to find that one gemstone, textile or scent that just takes your breath away, and then being able to take it to the next level and translate it into something desirable and useful.”

How do you want someone to feel when they wear your fragrance jewellery?
“Unique, elegant, inspired. I hope that they can feel all the love and care that I put into designing my collections.”
“I often wish I could create more hours in a day and more days in the week”
Do you work with any charities?
“We have great long-term partnerships with Girl Up, Dress for Success, The National Breast Cancer Coalition, The Rainforest Foundation, and The Freedom Alliance, to name a few.”
How do you ensure you’ve got a good work/life balance?
“Passion fuels me with the energy it takes to be a business owner, whereas love is what fuels me to nurture my family and relationships. When it matters, you find a way to make it work as best as you can. I often wish I could create more hours in a day and more days in the week, but even if I could, there would never be enough moments with my grandchildren or the time to execute every idea. I have great admiration for female leaders that demonstrate the ability to be ground-breaking while not deviating from their core sense of self. This is always a challenge in any professional landscape, and I commend any woman who can achieve this life balance.”
