We hear from Clare Price, founder of Guava & Gold who tells us all about her brand.

 

How did your brand begin?

I’ve always believed that we need to look after ourselves. So I set out to create a luxury bath and body range which would reflect unforgettable exotic holiday memories through unique fragrances and vibrant colours, and have personal wellbeing at its heart. It's all about a moment of escapism.

Values are really important to us at JewelStreet. What are your core brand values?

Guava & Gold is more than just a business. It aims to make a difference by using kind-to-skin ingredients and recyclable packaging. It supports initiatives such as those around hygiene poverty and has given to front-line workers during Covid-19.

Where do you get inspiration for your products?

Guava & Gold is inspired by the most beautiful, sun-drenched tropical locations you can picture. Just think of the warm caress of a golden sun, clear blue skies, soft coral sand and the sound of a turquoise ocean lapping up against the shore.

 

Tell us about why your customers inspire you.

Wellness is really important to all Guava & Gold's lovely customers. They’re confident and discerning in the products they purchase and buy from Guava & Gold's collection because they love our products and because the company is trying to make a positive impact whenever it can.

What has been the highest and lowest point of your career so far?

Being featured as one of 150 Great British Brands in 2020 alongside huge, well-respected names in the beauty industry was a very real high point. Dealing with the impact of Covid-19 has been a challenge but the brand is still moving forward successfully.

Do you have any exciting future plans and where do you see your brand in 5 years?

From the beginning, Guava & Gold attracted significant international interest because of its holiday inspiration. I’m working with various partners to build on that and I hope to see Guava & Gold more widely available overseas in the next 5 years.

 

What's the best piece of advice you've been given? (And have you actually used it?)

Just say yes, and then make it happen.
And, yes, I use that advice all the time to make myself get things done.
I never thought I’d find myself pulling a brand video together but I said we’d have one and now you can watch it on JewelStreet!

If you could travel to one place in the world right now, where would it be and why?

Any coral reef anywhere. I’m really missing the energy and beauty of the ocean and scuba diving whilst we all can’t travel.

Which 3 current or historic figures would you have over for a dinner party and why?

So many I'd like to invite! I'll choose the Queen to ask about the people she has met, Serena Williams for her inspiration on and off the tennis court (and maybe she’d bring Rafael Nadal too!) and Katherine Ryan to add to the laughs and great chat!

Favourite series to binge-watch on Netflix?

'The Crown' definitely.
