RUBINIA GIOIELLI was founded from an idea by designer Ilario Plazzi and became a reality after meeting with fellow designer Robert Ricci in 1995. RUBINIA GIOIELLI has since become a place of excellence where jewellery pieces are conceived and designed as if they were tailored clothes, in a constant and passionate search for new and amazing materials and colour combinations.

RUBINIA GIOIELLI creates unique and stylish jewellery, featuring distinctive colours and with a primary focus on the individual’s personality. The pieces are original in colour, style, and cut. Using gold, silver, leather, white gold and rose gold as well as beautiful gemstones, like diamonds, iolite and aquamarine, RUBINIA GIOIELLI creates sophisticated jewellery to cherish for a lifetime.


How did your brand begin?

The idea first came to Mr. Ilario Plazzi in 1985, who met me in 1995, and together we created the world of Rubinia Gioielli. I have always wanted to highlight the individuality of each person through my jewellery and for 25 years have focused on creating unique pieces for unique people.

Values are really important to us at JewelStreet. What are your core brand values?

Uniqueness, craftsmanship, authenticity. The importance and strength of the team and respecting ethics of the production chain are a few values important to us as a brand.

Where do you get inspiration for your designs?

From stories, from people, from our customers, who are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the creation of a truly unique jewel that reconstructs the most important moments of their lives.


How is your jewellery made?

Our jewellery is fully handmade by expert artisans, along with design and production, all made in Italy.

Are there any celebrities you would love to see wearing your designs?

Cate Blanchett.

How do you want someone to feel when they wear your jewellery?

Unique, as if what the jewel says was a secret only for the wearer to know and keep.

If you hadn't become a designer, what would you be doing?

I would probably work in a communications agency. As they say, communication is the art of arts.

Do you work with any charities?

Rubinia Gioielli supports various charitable initiatives. For three years it has donated part of the proceeds to the educational projects of Children in Crisis Italy, Onlus and the Fondazione P.U.P.I.


What drew you to JewelStreet?

We want to build a global presence through e-commerce. We want to launch our products to foreign markets, to tell the stories of the whole world through our jewels. JewelStreet is the perfect fit as I believe it can help us achieve these goals.
