My fiancee would never have liked it in public which made it easier to decide the location. I decided to do it in our first house which we had only been in for three months. I used to have Mondays off of work and tried to throw her off by hiding little chocolate eggs around the house with clues to find the next one. Then the last clue (which was upstairs) was by itself with no chocolate egg. It said "you were hoping for more chocolate, I'm sorry but it's not meant to be, but if you head back downstairs, you might find Harry down on one knee". She loved it.
