Technology is always innovating the jewellery industry. With new techniques and methods, the boundaries of jewellery design are constantly being pushed. However, sometimes the best jewellery is created by going back to age-old techniques. Tiss Jewelry was founded just last year. Based in Moscow, this expanding company knows how to create beautiful jewellery using traditional methods.
We had the chance to interview Sveta Tiss, self-confessed jewellery addict and gemstone enthusiast - the brains behind this gorgeous Russian brand. From Netflix shows to core values, get to know the jeweller behind the stunning pieces created by Sveta.
But before you are fully immersed in the glittering world of tiss Jewelry, have a look at their unique handcrafted designs. Their dedication to quality craftsmanship and innovate design is visible.
How did your brand begin?
Tiss is a jewellery brand founded in Moscow in 2018. Tiss was created by self-confessed jewellery addict Sveta: jeweler, designer and advertiser. The Tiss name does not have any meaning on purpose – it has to be filled with that meaning as the brand grows.
When did you first fall in love with jewellery and knew you wanted to become a designer?
I was 12 years old, I remember there was a little accessories store. Every few days I would stand and stare at the beautiful pieces for hours. There was no need for me to own, my passion was to see, analyze and admire. That was the first sign of my jewellery addiction.
Values are really important to us at JewelStreet. What are your core brand values?
Putting the client first. Great quality. Honesty.
Where do you get inspiration for your designs?
From everyday life. Great ideas come to me like a flash of light. When I’m driving a car, cooking breakfast or watching a movie. The main thing is to catch the moment and write an idea down or sketch it.

Are there any specific manufacturing/crafting techniques you use?
Tiss use the reticulation technique when metal purposely overheats up until the moment it starts to melt but does not become a liquid. In this particular moment unusual patterns appear on the metal.
How do you want someone to feel when they wear your jewellery?
Tiss creates details. The details of the woman. We want her to feel smart, elegant, feel soft but still strong. We want her feel in touch with her womanhood.
Do you work with any charities?
Yes, helping animal shelters!
Are there any other designers whose work you particularly admire, and what jewellery is on your current wishlist?
Yes, German based brand Niessing. I admire the way they use technologies and create some really unusual pieces.
What meal is your signature dish?
