Katie Mullally is a jewellery brand based in Kent. Its founder and designer, Katie Mullally began her company in her home and her designs and high-quality jewellery has projected her into the public eye, with great media coverage and many celebrities wearing her creations. Since its start in 2012, Katie hasn’t shown any sign of slowing down – as if anyone would want her to after seeing her collections! Here’s everything to know about Katie, her brand and what she has in store for the future.
Katie Mullally started her jewellery business in 2012, after having worked in her grandmother’s antique shops. After working in the Old Grays Antique Marketing in London, Katie took a silversmith’s course and recognised her passion and love for silver. After delving into everything silver, Katie found out about the importance of a hallmark which she uses in all of her jewellery.
A hallmark stamps on articles of gold, silver, or platinum by the British Assay Offices and certifies their standard. It tells you everything about the piece of material, like the date and year it was made, purity, name of the designer and what Assay Office marked it. Katie sends all of her jewellery to the Goldsmiths Company Assay Office in London for them to be hallmarked. Each charm, necklace, coin, bracelet has Katie’s own hallmark (KMM) on it, an amazing touch and a sure sign of quality and Katie’s expertise.
The jewellery is vintage inspired and draws on Katie’s Irish heritage. They are quirky and unusual designs, from coins, to wishbones, to whale’s tails and are most importantly British made. Katie is passionate about keeping manufacturing in the UK and believes that Britain and heritage has become a brand. The ‘Made in Great Britain’ brand remains a guarantee of style and quality and this appeals to worldwide stockers and consumers. Katie’s jewellery is increasingly popular in Japan as well as in the UK and is bought and worn by all ages. She is in high demand, with brands like Notonthehighstreet.com, House of Fraser and ASOS selling her designs. Katie also sells her jewellery on her own website as well as with us at JewelStreet!

The Hallmarking Collection is one dedicated to the quality of the material and has the London Assay Office and the branded KMM hallmark. The bars, circles and oblongs are truly special and would look amazing around the neck or as a charm on a bracelet.
Peace and Love Collection is the collection dedicated for charitable causes. The ellenor kiss charm is in support of ellenor, the only hospice in Kent that provides care to all ages. It was made with the idea of keeping loved ones close. With a sentimental touch and a beautiful design, it is perfect to wear always. Katie also teamed up with the Humane Society International to come up with a paw print design, supporting the protection of animals and fighting against animal cruelty. There are also love medallions, peace signs and hearts that make up the collection.

The Wishbone Collection is made up entirely of… you guessed it… wishbones! They are one of the original KMM charms and are effortlessly timeless and beautiful. They’ve been worn by Rita Ora, Dua Lipa, Zoe Hardman and many models in magazines.
The Personalised Collection is full of charms and necklaces made to engrave initials. You can pick a plain base or a spinning charm to have your initials stamped on. They are immensely popular and worn by Chloe Lewis from TOWIE and Pixie Lott.
What’s Coming Next?
Coming up for Katie Mullally, she will be airing on BBC’s Dragons’ Den - Sunday 2nd of December at 8pm on BBC Two. She hopes her experience and story will inspire young entrepreneurs:
“The reason for applying to Dragons’ Den was I felt it was the right time to work with a partner/partners to help grow my business to the next level. I felt I had built the foundations of a successful business, the products are proving popular and I could see there was potential with the brand.
“It was an amazing opportunity and I was very lucky to be chosen for Dragons’ Den. From the very start of the application there was a lot of support from the Dragon’s Den team. Working through the due diligence although time consuming, was a great way of having a ‘birds eye view’ of the business. Dragons’ Den gave me the opportunity to look at the business objectively."
Katie won over her favourite dragon, Deborah Meaden who loved Katie's designs and the Irish theme, especially after hearing the appeal in the USA for the Ireland coins and other Irish pieces. Deborah Meaden invested £70k in return for a 40% stake in Katie Mullally Jewellery which she happily accepted.
“I’m certain the Dragons’ Den experience will benefit my small business that was lucky enough to be selected to meet the Dragons – it’s speed mentoring at its best and like an out of body experience!”
Katie has also just launched the Vogue Williams X Katie Mullally Collaboration, which is sure to be a fan favourite. Katie and Vogue are both from Irish backgrounds and the range features shamrocks, claddagh’s and cut out Ireland charms, coins, crosses and hearts. There’s something for everyone, with plain and varying chain lengths, stacking rings and dangling charms.
