Based in Beirut, Lebanon, designer Danya Jabre turned her passion for creativity into her own jewellery business, specialising in fun and quirky collections. The Twist by Danya combines eccentricity and exoticism with brilliance and excellence, to make pieces that are full of character and wit. Influenced by her globetrotter lifestyle, Danya creates jewellery that is imbued with a rich culture of travel.

With the tagline “Jewellery with a twist”, Danya lives up to these expectations and gives her customers jewels that express themselves. The Twist by Danya has a range of colourful and quirky collections, including Emoji, Celestial, Happiness Therapy and Garden of Eden. Each piece is crafted with care, love, passion and a close attention to detail. It is jewellery which has edgy beauty and are miniature works of art. How did your brand begin?

The Twist by Danya Jabre started as a capsule collection in December 2014 with quirky Emoji themed jewellery. It was labelled as a big hit and instantly became a strong influencer in the jewellery industry.


When did you first fall in love with jewellery and knew you wanted to become a designer?

My love to create and design, backed by a rich imagination was prominent ever since I was a child. However, it was not until 2014 when I decided to turn the gift of creativity into a business.

      


Where do you get inspiration for your designs?

I’m inspired by life, travel, experiences and life patterns.


How is your jewellery made?

Every piece is made with love. My clients actually tell me that they feel positivity when they wear my jewellery.


Are there any celebrities you would love to see wearing your designs?

Gigi Hadid and Monica Bellucci.

      


How do you want someone to feel when they wear your jewellery?

Happy! My jewellery is happy jewellery!


If you hadn't become a designer, what would you be doing?

I love to be creative so I probably would have been an interior designer if I hadn’t become a designer.

      


What's the best piece of advice you've been given?

The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is “live the moment.”


What music do you play in the studio whilst you’re working?

I love to listen to Barry White and 80’s music while I’m designing and creating.

      


What's your favourite quote?

My favourite quote is “This too shall pass.”
