A jewellery workshop is where the magic happens; a plain piece of metal gets shaped into a striking bangle, a handcrafted pendant is placed onto a chain or a diamond gets set onto a bespoke engagement ring.

Here at Jewelstreet we only sell jewellery that has been lovingly crafted by hand at a workbench, which is the way we believe all jewellery should be created. We take a look at what happens inside three of our designer’s jewellery workshops.

Le Sibille

Rome, Italy

Le Sibille was born from three women’s desire to create unique and feminine jewellery from a typical Renaissance jewellery workshop. Passionate about using the 8th century technique of Roman mosaicking, they painstakingly craft each one-off design by hand in their Rome-based jewellery workshop from hundreds, if not thousands, of tiny tiles of glass, ceramic or gemstone. The exceptionally intricate technique results in exceptionally original and distinct pieces of jewellery that need to be seen to be truly appreciated.

By Emily

London, UK

Each piece from By Emily’s collection is handcrafted in designer Emily Sidwell’s jewellery workshop based in beautiful Oxfordshire. Using the lost wax casting process, each delicate creation is first carved from a unique blend of wax resulting in figures that appear alive and untamed, the wax is then cast in precious metal and lovingly crafted together by Emily at her bench. Drawing inspiration from childhood stories and the English countryside, her collection is a mixture of poise and playfulness.
