Matt and I met in school when we were 14. It was on a bus trip to London. Everyone was swapping seats, and he came and sat next to me. We talked a lot and eventually went out with each other a few times. Unfortunately, we split up, but we were each other's first loves. I hoped that he would be happy.

We met again 10/11 years later. I had just been horribly dumped by a boyfriend. Matt happened to be helping out a friend by working that one night in the same pub that I walked into to drown my sorrows. Nothing happened, but we talked. We ended up talking for a couple of months, and then got together properly again.

We went round to my parent's house for a Boxing Day lunch. All of my family was there, as well as Matt's mum. We sat down to have some leftover lunch and started to pull some leftover crackers. I pulled mine with my sister and looked at the present inside, which happened to be a ring. I didn’t think anything of it until I looked up and saw everyone looking at me. Matt had put my engagement ring in a cracker for me!!

I turned round and he was on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the biggest surprise of my life, I had absolutely no idea! My family were all in on it too!

Seven years later, we are married with two little girls and our third is on the way. We couldn’t be happier. First loves are now forever loves.
