Cathy Pardon began her jewellery brand with her daughter, Branwen. After Branwen sadly passed away in 2015, Cathy decided to continue what they’d started together and Cathy Pardon Jewellery has been thriving ever since. Based in Belgium, Cathy creates simple and elegant jewellery, handcrafted with traditional goldsmithing techniques. Sourced from trusted suppliers, Cathy uses recycled and conflict-free materials and has master stone-setters who help with gemstone work.
Cathy Pardon Jewellery offers authentic, simple, sustainable, elegant and comfortable jewellery, designed to make people feel loved, treasured and beautiful.
How did your brand begin?
Together with my daughter Branwen, she was my inspiration and partner in crime. Losing her in 2015 left me devastated, but I want to continue what we started together. Our brand is all about authenticity. From the design, to how it is made, through the materials used.
Values are really important to us at JewelStreet. What are your core brand values?
Authenticity, essential, simplicity, sustainable, ethical, elegance and comfort. Quality handcrafted fine 18ct gold jewellery and a small selection of handcrafted 925 silver jewellery.
How is your jewellery made?
The jewellery is handcrafted with traditional goldsmith techniques. From alloying to smithing, drawing wire, sawing, filing sanding and polishing. The gemstones are set by trusted master stone-setters.
How do you source your materials and gemstones?
The materials and gemstones are sourced by trusted suppliers. For the precious metals, I choose suppliers who sell recycled gold and silver. For gemstones, I choose suppliers who can guarantee conflict-free materials.
Are there any celebrities you would love to see wearing your designs?
I think there's something to find for Kate and Meghan! A big compliment for me, is when women who don't usually wear a lot of jewellery choose my designs to start wearing it again.
How do you want someone to feel when they wear your jewellery?
I want them to feel like they are wearing a little treasure. When they see or feel the jewel, they feel loved, treasured and beautiful.
If you could only wear one piece from your collection, what would it be and why?
I think I would choose the Silverlinings Rosecut Black Diamond ring in 18kt gold. It's really a timeless statement piece. The Silverlinings ring is designed and made to sit comfortably draped around your finger. You can wear it day and night.
What music do you play in the studio whilst you’re working?
Leonard Cohen, Chris Isaak and Bruce Springsteen tend to be good company while working and most of the time, a good shuffle of music from the 80's.
What's your favourite quote?
