British designed with Peruvian spirit, SOLUNA London is the luxury high-end jewellery brand combining the best of both worlds. Miguel Depaz launched SOLUNA London in 2015 and his designs are inspired by his Peruvian heritage, as well as modernism and ancient stories.

The brand name comes from the merging of two Spanish words – ‘luna’ for moon and ‘sol’ the sun. Using the image of the moon and the sun together, it also celebrates the love of gold and silver.

SOLUNA London works with certified workshops that meet high ethical standards, use precious materials and ancient craftsmanship techniques – if you invest in SOLUNA London, you are getting high quality jewellery to cherish for a lifetime.

How did your brand begin?

In 2015, I launched SOLUNA London because I wanted to innovate the luxury and high-end space. I wanted a brand that resonates with a cosmopolitan crowd that is relevant to a modern and global world. Based on my Peruvian heritage, I use modern designs and ancient stories to create our pieces.

When did you first fall in love with jewellery and knew you wanted to become a designer?

Before setting up my jewellery brand, I was always attracted by the idea to create objects that would transcend time and borders. I am interested in making beautiful things using precious metals that showcase design, art, and craftsmanship.

Is there anyone in particular who has heavily influenced/guided you as a designer?

I hugely admire Paul Smith and Armani for the empire they have created around their brands. Our goal at SOLUNA London is to build a lifestyle brand that connects with customers and to establish a real international presence.

What has been the highest and lowest point of your career so far?

I don’t necessarily call them high and low points. I learn, adapt and grow every time I meet an obstacle in life as in business. There have been many highs recently such as great fashion shows in Shanghai, and our pieces being spotted by Vogue UK.
