We were living in our first home, which had a very small galley kitchen. On a very hot summers day my man couldn't wait to propose after he had collected the ring he had bought me. He lovingly, traditionally, got down on one knee, and raised the box that held the engagement ring toward me. He shakily whispered the words "you are the love of my life, will you please marry me" became a bit wobbly and to steady himself in this unusual position slapped his hand down onto the kitchen worktop.... straight into the open butter dish. After much laughter of course I said YES. We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary this year.
