Best Jewelry Looks From London Fashion Week

Posted on

Crazy earrings and redesigned pearls were the order of the day at London Fashion Week. You couldn’t escape the enormous gemstone designs at Burberry, or the full-body bead necklace at the A.W.A.K.E show.

These are the jewels that caught our eye at LFW...

Burberry gets blingy

Christopher Bailey describes his collection as finding ‘the humor, the beauty, and the pathos, and the sheer glorious eccentricity of the British way of dressing’. His bold jewelry designs took inspiration from the beauty of British gardens. If you don’t like gemstones, then look away now.

These sensational gem-encrusted earrings (and brooches) are a magpie’s dream. Worn as single earrings (of course), the shoulder-length designs were awash with hundreds of glistening crystals and colourful gems. We think we may have just found our dream Christmas party earrings...

Mad accessories at Matty Bovon

Matty Bovon has been named as London’s new untameable designer. The eccentric Central Saint Martins graduate brought originality and fun to LFW with his head-turning designs, which were brought to life by the likes of Georgia May Jagger and Winnie Harlow. Even those who don’t like his designs couldn’t look away.

We’re not sure what inspired this particular earring… Michelin man, anyone?

Pearl accents at Ralph & Russo

You know you’re killing it as a fashion brand when your loyal clients include Angelina Jolie, Celine Dion and Jennifer Lawrence. This haute couture brand’s latest ready-to-wear line was interspersed with crisp whites, electric metallic blues, and blush florals offset with icy silver embellishments. Diamond ear cuffs finished the undeniably chic looks.

Chunky chokers at Versus Versace

Donatella Versace went for a Nineties New York vibe in her SS18 collection, with a heavy focus on celebrating the brand’s logo. Punky spiked earrings were worn as singles, while silver chains were layered against branded chokers.

Ports 1961 do XL pearls

Ports 1961 presented a line of workwear filled with masculine silhouettes, arty prints and flirty finishes. Pearls have been scattered across many of the SS18 shows, including this one. We loved the simple yet XL size of their pearl rings.

Simone Rocha does feminine finishes

The Dublin-born designer stayed true to her subversive feminine roots and weaved tulle, silk and satin into something truly elegant. And the jewelry was just as elegant. Models’ hair was finished with glistening pearl barrettes, while ears were adorned with large chandelier earrings made from pearls.

A.W.A.K.E brings us beaded tassels

In a spring/summer season dominated by glammed-up sportswear, Natalia Alaverdian brought a refreshing offering to daywear at her debut runway show in London. Deconstructed tailoring and draped silhouettes were topped with higher-than-high hats and rustic, thigh-length beaded necklaces.
