From long chain lariats at Louis Vuitton to statement sparkle at Miu Miu, here’s our favourite jewellery looks from the AW17 catwalks.

FAVOURITE JEWELLERY LOOKS AT FASHION WEEK AW17 1

Lariats at Louis Vuitton

Hosted at the world's most visited museum, the Louvre, Louis Vuitton’s show blurred masculine with feminine, day with night, and combined the heritage of the house with the future. Leather jackets were decorated with looped skate chains, wrists were wrapped in silver chains and necks were adorned with long lariat chains. Lariats were seen across shows this season, and they’re one of our must-have accessories. Light, feminine and elongating – what’s not to love?

'I’m-famous' jewels at Miu Miu

Miu Miu had it all. The glitz, the glamour and the jewels. There was no holding back. Jewelled headbands were unashamedly paired with oversized earrings and sparkling necklaces. And whilst we probably wouldn’t wear all three walking down the high street, it’s time we upped our statement jewellery game…

Diamanté collars at Chanel

Chanel have taken us to Antarctica, an airport and even a supermarket, so it wasn’t a huge shock when Karl Largerfeld took us into Space for his Autumn/winter Ready to Wear collection. The space theme meant the show was an abundance of silver and sparkles, from futuristic silvery and navy tweeds to glitter explosion boots. But it was the diamanté collars that caught our eye. Glittering and chunky, we want to pair these collars with an off-duty t-shirt and jeans look immediately…

Ear cuffs and spheres at Oscar de la Renta

Since the passing of it’s founder age 82 in 2014, Oscar de la Renta has endured a somewhat rocky road. Previous senior vice president of design at Carolina Herrera, Laura Kim debuted her first collection for Oscar de la Renta this season, and we were greeted with a youthful, bold and Eighties theme. Ear cuffs dangled playfully from the model’s ears and shining metallic balls were featured on necklaces and earrings. The designs were fun and wearable.

Bold bangles at Proenza Schouler

Proenza Schouler’s show was an ode to New York, or at least an ode to the urban cool-girl that resides in New York. They paired tunic dresses bisected with circular cut outs with interesting wrap-around arm bracelets, which were bold, graphic, and felt like a cool step forward. And it certainly got us thinking we should embrace bolder bangles onto our arms.
