Handmade from Butternut tree cross cuts and solid iron spindles. Many Butternut trees are at the mercy of a lethal disease called Sirococcus clavigignenti-juglandacearum. This fungus, also known as butternut canker, is found throughout North America on 90% of butternut trees and threatens the viability of butternut as a species.
Specially treated wood slices are fine sanded and coated with a natural plant-based oil finish that creates a molecular bond with the fibres to protect and bring out the end grain.
This hand-blown glass filled with deep black sand stands 23cm in height with a 13cm wide base varying slightly depending on your unique tree slices. Bring the beauty of nature into your home with this unique piece of functional art, this is the perfect gift for the person that has everything!
