MIXED MEDIA AUTOMATA
This piece has two sharks stalking 3 three fish, they are made from iron wire. They have been mounted onto a section of planking from an old rowing boat. The section of the boat is then mounted above an oxidised copper plinth. two of the smaller fish have been attached to the brass support rods, holding up the planking.
When you turn the wire handle, the mechanism that is built into the piece moves levers back and forth. This, in turn, pull on bonded nylon threads and they make the tails of the fish move back and forth.
The piece is then signed by Ben in wire on the plinth.
